The schoolboasts 5 research institutions, including the Asia Pacific Translation and Cross-cultural Transmission Institute (university-level), the International Translation Studies Bibliography (TSB) China Center, the Institute of Foreign Languages and Literature, the Institute of Foreign Language Education,andthe Institute of Japanese Language and Culture.

Over the past five years, the school has undertaken1key project funded by the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC),1major sub-project under the NSSFC,10NSSFC projects,4projects funded by the Social Science Fund of the Ministry of Education,13projectsby the Guangxi Social Science Fund, and numerous regional teaching reformprograms. The school has achieved commendable research outcomes in British and American literature and culture, translation theory and practice, English linguistics, Southeast Asian languages and literatures, and foreign language education. In thepastfive years, faculty members have published 373 papers in domestic and international journals and have authored or edited 78 monographs and translations.

Translation and Chinese Modernityauthored by Professor Luo XuanminandCompromise and Concession: A History of Chinese-English Translation by Early Protestant Missionaries to China, 1807-1850(authored by Professor Deng Lianjian), were selected for the 2018 and 2019 NSSFC Chinese Academic Translation Projectrespectively. Luo Xuanmin'sTranslation and Chinese Modernityand Guan Rongzhen'sA Study on G.C. Spivak's Theoryreceived the second and third prizes respectively at the 8th Ministry of Education Awards for Outstanding Achievements in Scientific Research in Higher Education Institutions in 2020.

The schoolsponsorstwo academic journals:Asia Pacific Interdisciplinary Translation StudiesandAsia Pacific Translation and Intercultural Studies.Asia Pacific Interdisciplinary Translation Studies, established in 2015, is indexed by CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure)and was rated as a "2022 AMI Comprehensive Evaluation Journal" by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The journal emphasizes the integration of translation studies with other humanities and social sciences, seeking innovative and diverse regional studies. It includes sections like feature articles, theoretical discussions, case analyses, classical studies, academic trends, and graduate forums. Since its inception, the journal has been well-received in the academic community.

Asia Pacific Translation and Intercultural Studiesis edited by Professor Luo Xuanmin and published by Routledge, a renowned member of the Taylor & Francis Group. It is issued tri-annually in both electronic and print formats. Since its launch in 2014, the journal has consistently ranked in the top three for download rates among Routledge's language and translation publications, with citation rates rising annually. It was included in the ESCI in 2021, establishing it as a leading international academic journal.

Professor Luo Xuanmin'sAbstracts of Chinese Translation Studies, founded in 2000, is an annual compilation that serves as a significant source of important translation abstracts for the Benjamin Publishing Company in the Netherlands and is a crucial window for international literature search. This journal is published by the China Translation & Publishing House, a subsidiary of the China Publishing Group.

6.International Research Collaborations

The school collaborates with the Netherlands-based Benjamin Publishing Company to jointly operate the Translation Studies Bibliography (TSB) Database Center, working together to construct a "Translation Studies Bibliography Database".

In recent years, the school has hosted the "East and West: International Summit Forum of Writers, Translators, and Critics/Editors" and the "Asia-Pacific Forum of Translation and Intercultural Studies" (APFTIS). The Asia-Pacific Forum of Translation and Intercultural Studies has been organized10times at prestigious institutions both domestically and internationally, including Tsinghua University, the University of California, Berkeley, the University of Hawaii, Durham University in the UK, the University of Melbourne, and the University of New South Wales. This grassroots academic approach has successfully integrated Chinese culture into the global narrative, providing an excellent opportunity to tell China's story and advance Sino-foreign cultural exchanges.

7.Academic Outreach and Engagement

The School has frequently organized and hosted both domestic and international academic forums and seminars, including the International Conference of Business Chinese Teaching and Cultural Translation, the11thInternational Conference on Multilingualism and Multilingual Education, the6thWestern Regional Foreign Language Development Seminar, Cultural Transformation and Comparative Literature in the Era of Change – The13thChinese Comparative Literature Annual Meeting and International Symposium, the4thAnnual Meeting of the Asian ESP Association and the9thNational Seminar on English for Specific Purposes, the6thWestern Regional Foreign Language Development Seminar, the Yan Fu's Translation Thoughts Research Summit and Discourse Rhetoric and Translation Communication Seminar, and the4thSummit Forum on Translation, Rhetoric, and External Discourse Communication by the China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese. These conferences haveprovided an academic platform forpromoting equal academic dialogue among domestic and international scholars, helping to narrate China's story and constructing a modern Chinese academic discourse system.

Theschoolplaces great emphasis on academic exchange with universities and academic organizations both domestically and internationally. It has invited numerous renowned scholars to lecture, including Huang Youyi, Wang Ning, Qiu Xiaolong, Cheung King Kok, Isabelle Rabut, Jin Li, Guo Yingjian, Cao Li, and Peng Qinglong. Since 2018, theschoolhas held 86 Jiezi Academic Forums, including 12Junwu Lectures at the university-level.
